#1: Sir Ken Robinson

Sir Robinson Ted Talk Response:

1. What are your take aways from this video?
I take away from this video that Sir Ken Robinson is very interested in the idea of education in children because the world is unpredictible; he said that in 5 years we have no idea what the world will be like. He also said, "we don't grow into creativity, we grow out of it".
He also expressed the importance of intellegence through many points, for example how intellegence is distinct. He says we have to re-think the fundumentals that we use in educating our children. Our job is to make something of our future, and we need to help the next generation prepare for an unpredictable future as well.

2. What are the speakers effective speaking techniques?
He takes many real life stories to realte to the subject. He also tells stories that everyone can realte to so that they can take something away from it and relate it to the subject so they can understand it better.

3. What is his/her presentation style?
Relaxed, humorous, and comfortable. He can also be serious when need be in order to prove his point. This proves very effective in getting through to people. He's not in a very formal suit, he is in a regular business man outfit.

4. What matters from this video? How does it connect to your personally? To education? To the world?
This Ted Talk reflects edudcation in our soceity and our future in our children. He somewhat supports a right brained sort of thinking, especially when he says that math is very important, but so is dance. He believes that logical subjects are very important, but so are creativity classes such as dance that can allow us to express ourselves. It connects to me personally because I am right-brained and I do personally believe in creativity classes being in our school systems. Our education should realte by having many creativity classes in order for us to reach our academic ability. Also in the world, he says that "degrees don't mean anything anymore". So many people are graduating from schooling and colleges that everyone has a degree; if we are not abstract and creative then our regular degrees mean nothing anymore. This especially makes me wonder about my future and what I will make of myself; will the world be a right-brained universe or will the left-brained soceity "rule"?
